Main Street Morrilton is excited to announce the start of its new Junior Main Street Program. This new program will empower young people to participate in positive community-building projects, learn how to make decisions as a group, organize events, plan how to accomplish goals, and make a difference in downtown Morrilton.

The Junior Main Street Program is open to youth in grades 7-12. Participants will be required to attend regular meetings and participate in various community events and projects. Service hours will be logged and will be certified by Main Street Morrilton for use in applying for employment, college admissions, scholarships, and internships. It is anticipated that an annual scholarship will be established and awarded to participants based on service to the community through the Junior Main Street program.

The inaugural meeting was held at the Rialto Gallery with 12 members comprised of Sacred Heart, Morrilton, and homeschooling students from the area. During this meeting members made plans to help with the hanging basket project, to host a booth at the downtown farmers market, and to contribute ideas for making Monsters on Main Street even better. Youth interested in joining the Junior Main Street Program should contact Sarah Croswell at (501) 404-8604 or mainstreetmorrilton@gmail.com.
