Fabulous Fourth & More at Morrilton City Park

The annual Fabulous Fourth celebration will return to the Morrilton City Park after its hiatus in 2020. However, due to the remnants of Covid, this year’s celebration will still be a modified event limited to only the fireworks. According to Shawnna Bowles, Assistant to the Mayor, the event will be FREE to the public with the fireworks beginning at dark. They do ask that Covid protocols be followed with social distancing. Shawnna added, “Looking forward to getting back to the celebration we know and love in 2022!”

Speaking of Morrilton’s City Park, have you noticed the construction/updates that are taking place? During the past few months the City has installed a new fence surrounding the park. They have also reused rock from a retaining wall to construct a new sign that will add a touch of style. And if that’s not enough, just a few weeks ago the City Council passed the approval of purchasing new park equipment to update what is already there. It may take a couple of months to install, but it will be well worth the wait!

Mayor Allen Lipsmeyer also announced the reopening of the splash pad and the Morrilton City Pool. Both of these were closed in 2020 due to Covid but are back in use. The splash pad is located within the park and is FREE to the public. The hours of operation are 10:00 AM- 6:00 PM daily. The City Pool is located adjacent to the Park and will be open until September 6, 2021. The hours of operation for the pool are 12:00 PM-6:00 PM daily. The admission fees are: children (12-under) $3, adults (13 and over) $5, daycares $1 per child and $2 per chaperone, and no charge for infants (2 and under) or non-swimmers. Season passes, swimming lessons, and private pool parties are also available.

The Morrilton City Park, City Pool, and Splash Pad are all valuable assets to our community and add much to the Main Street Morrilton entertainment corridor. We are very excited to have access to these facilities.
